Ubisoft canceled the presentation of Assassin’s Creed Shadows at Tokyo Game Show 2024 — the game will probably be postponed
The Japanese office of Ubisoft announced that the presentation of Assassin’s Creed Shadows at the Tokyo Game Show will not take place. The company did not specify the reasons for this decision.
Probably, the cancellation of the presentation is connected with the general negative background around the action. Some people think that the game is made without respect for Japanese culture and is replete with historical inaccuracies (in particular, the sword of one of the protagonists does not have a real prototype and is taken from the hero of One Piece). Some players even created petitions asking to draw the attention of Japanese regulators to the project.
In addition, journalist Tom Henderson said that Ubisoft canceled the Assassin’s Creed Shadows event for the press, which was supposed to take place in the week from September 30 to October 6. According to him, this may indicate a postponement of the release date of the game.
Currently, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is still scheduled to release on November 15. The action game will be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
