Sony will reveal its internal documents due to Microsoft-Activision Blizzard deal case

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has ordered Sony to disclose its internal documents due to a deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard. The company will have to provide documents for the period from January 1, 2019 to the present days.

Sony tried to reject Microsoft’s demands to provide documents, but some of the company’s papers are allowed not to be disclosed. So, the FTC allowed not to provide documents relating to the evaluation of the management of Jim Ryan and his direct reports.

Theoretically, Sony internal documents could influence the decision of antitrust regulators regarding the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard – especially if details of unfair competition come to light.

It also became known about the date of the verdict on the deal from the European Commission – it will be issued on April 25. According to Reuters, the European Commission is likely to approve the purchase of Activision Blizzard.
