Rumor: Capcom delayed the release of Resident Evil 9 by at least a year

Blogger Dusk Golem, known for leaks about Capcom projects, shared details about the company’s plans for the Resident Evil series. At the same time, Dusk Golem insides, which are not always reliable, have already been confirmed by the chief editor of the VGC portal Andy Robinson, so the information should be taken carefully.

Dusk Golem reported that the release of Resident Evil 9 has been delayed to late 2025 or early 2026 for an undisclosed reason. There’s no point in waiting for the game to be demonstrated at summer exhibitions.

Also, according to information from Dusk Golem, Capcom is developing remakes of Resident Evil Code Veronica and Resident Evil Zero. At the same time, contrary to rumors, remakes of the first and fifth Resident Evil are not yet planned for release.
