Naughty Dog is cancelling work on The Last of Us multiplayer game
Naughty Dog studio announced the decision to stop working on the multiplayer branch of The Last of Us: a corresponding message appeared on the company’s website.
According to the developers, the project took up too many resources — such a waste of energy on a multiplayer title could interfere with the studio’s single-player games (Naughty Dog reported that they are now working on several single-player projects at once).
It is worth noting that we are not talking about a complete cancellation of the development of the online The Last of Us: rather, it is an indefinite freeze. Probably, someday the studio will return to the project, but when this will happen is unknown.
