Xbox projects will get a social interface — it will be available on all platforms

Windows Central editor Jez Corden reported that Xbox is working on some kind of “social interface.” According to the journalist, the new menu will be available in Microsoft projects both on its own platforms and on competitors’ devices, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

Corden suggests that the interface will be similar to Battle.net, which can be found in Activision Blizzard projects. Microsoft is probably preparing an analogue of the PlayStation overlay, which is available in the latest Sony PC ports. However, exact information about its functionality is still unknown.

The development of the Xbox interface may indicate Microsoft’s intention to create a unified ecosystem for its products across all platforms. It is still unknown how the company’s competitors in the console market will react to this.
