VGC: Ubisoft canceled Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel

VGC portal, citing unnamed sources, stated about the cancellation of the Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel. Initially, Ubisoft planned to make a franchise from Immortals, the games in which would be inspired by various mythical settings, but this idea was abandoned.

The canceled sequel was on early development stage. VGC reports that the reason for the cancellation was Ubisoft’s lack of confidence that Immortals would turn into a major popular franchise. Also, according to VGC, the publisher wants to focus on existing large brands and service projects.

Immortals Fenyx Rising was released at the end of 2022. The project was positively evaluated by both the players and the press, but sales of the title did not meet Ubisoft’s expectations.
