The EU has included a ban on the sale of consoles to Russia in the new sanctions package

The European Union has officially included a ban on the sale of gaming consoles to Russia in the new sanctions package. The restriction should also affect the main gaming platforms — Nintendo, Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

Experts from the Russian game development have repeatedly noted the strangeness of the decision: not a single vendor produces consoles in the EU countries, and they are not imported from the EU to the territory of the Russian Federation.

Console vendors did not comment on the restriction. It should be noted that consoles imported to Russia through parallel imports work properly.
