Sony is skipping gamescom 2024

Sony has announced that it will not attend gamescom 2024. The company did not explain the reasons for its decision.

Sony is likely to be preparing for its own event: the Japanese giant is expected to unveil the PlayStation 5 Pro this fall — a more powerful version of the regular PS5 with better ray tracing support. The company may also make some game announcements at the same event.

Sony has already skipped gamescom in favor of its own presentations. For example, this happened in 2022: shortly before the exhibition, the company held its own event, where it unveiled the DualSense Edge controller.
