Sony is considering buying From Software

Reuters reports that Sony is in talks to buy Kadokawa, which owns From Software (Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Elden Ring). If the talks are successful, the purchase could be announced soon.

Sony currently has minor stakes in Kadokawa and From Software, and the companies have been cooperating for several years in the exchange of expertise. After the news was published, Sony and Kadokawa shares rose, but both companies did not confirm the talks.

Reuters reports that Sony may be interested in Kadokawa not only because of its game development. The company is also involved in films, anime, and manga — these are the areas that the PlayStation owner is eyeing.
