Rumor: Valve is working on a console to compete with PS5 and Xbox Series
Insider eXtas1s, known for his reliable predictions, said that Valve is working on a home console. As a Steam Deck, the console will be based on the company’s own operating system.
The future console is planned as a competitor to PS5 and Xbox Series. The insider suggested that the home console from Valve will be based on AMD components — in particular, the console will use the RDNA 4 architecture. Considering the rumors that Valve is developing a new iteration of Steam Machines, the insider from eXtas1s looks plausible.
Valve itself does not comment on the rumor. Previously, the company stated that Steam Deck 2 should not be expected in the near future: the developers want to introduce a device that is significantly superior to the first version in all aspects.
