Rumor: PS5 will get native support of some PS3 games
In a new episode of the XboxEra podcast, insider Shpeshal_Nick said that Sony is working on native support for some PS3 games on PS5.
The blogger separately noted that only some titles from the PS3 era will receive support — this is because titles will require special patches to launch on the current Sony console, and it is not possible to update all projects from the outdated device. Most of the games that will receive PS5 support will probably be projects from Sony’s internal studios.
It is still unclear which consoles of the PS5 family will be able to launch games from the PS3. Probably, only the PS5 Pro, which the company plans to present the fall, will receive this option: this way, Sony can make the device more attractive to players.
