Romero Games is seeking funding for their new title

Romero Games was one of the victims of a recent audit by Microsoft (according to the developers, the Xbox owner financed the production of the team’s project). Despite the good pace of development, Microsoft stopped funding the title that the studio was working on, and now its production has effectively stopped.

After that, Romero Games announced an imminent “reorganization”, but this did not lead to the closure of the studio. Now John Romero’s company is actively seeking for another source of funding and notes interest to the game from publishers. The project has not been announced publicly, but it is known that this is a first-person shooter developing on Unreal Engine 5. The game will takes place in a new universe.

Some players assumed that the title could be related to the Quake universe, however, given that the production of such a project is impossible without the participation of Microsoft and Bethesda, this information can be considered unreliable.
