Respawn has undergone layoffs — the company has cancelled all unannounced projects

Respawn Entertainment has undergone layoffs: the dismissals affected the teams working on Apex Legends and the Star Wars series. The reason for the layoffs was the bad performance for 2024 at Electronic Arts, the company that owns the studio.

In addition, Respawn has cancelled all unannounced games in development — the studio will focus on Apex Legends and Star Wars. It is known that among the cancelled projects was the extraction shooter in the Titanfall franchise.

Some of the employees working on unannounced projects will be transferred to EA Motive to help with the Iron Man title.
