Official: DOOM: The Dark Ages will be released on May 15
At the recent Developer_Direct broadcast, Microsoft confirmed the release date of DOOM: The Dark Ages — the shooter will be released on May 15.
The action will take place in a fantasy version of the Middle Ages: in terms of plot, The Dark Ages will act as a prequel to DOOM 2016. In the new part, the developers allowed flexible adjustment of the game difficulty, and also changed the dynamics of battles — now the Doom Slayer feels more heavy and relies not on jumps, but on a saw-shield with contextual actions.
DOOM: The Dark Ages will be available on PC, Xbox Series and PS5. The shooter will not have a soundtrack from Mick Gordon due to the musician’s conflict with Bethesda. Pre-orders for the game have already started in digital stores — it has become known that a video card with ray tracing support will be required to launch the project.
