Microsoft will replace Xbox Live Gold with a Game Pass Core subscription
Microsoft announced the closure of Xbox Live Gold: the service, which allowed play online, will be replaced by a Game Pass Core subscription on September 14th.
Game Pass Core subscribers will be able to play online and receive exclusive discounts. But the issuance of free projects in the service will not be added: instead, Microsoft will offer a library of 25 games. The games in the subscription will be updated several times a year, and information about new titles will appear on September 14, the day the service is launched.
So far, it is known that the following projects are waiting for players at the start: Among Us, Descenders, Dishonored 2, Doom Eternal, Fable Anniversary, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Grounded, Halo 5: Guardians, Halo Wars 2, Hellblade : Senua’s Sacrifice, Human Fall Flat, Inside, Ori & The Will of the Wisps, Psychonauts 2, State of Decay 2, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.
Users with active Xbox Live Gold will be automatically upgraded to Game Pass Core. The cost of the new subscription compared to Live Gold will not change and will be $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year.
