Jeff Grubb: Sony closed its service games due to the failure of Concord

It recently became known that Sony closed two unannounced service games from Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games. Journalist Jeff Grubb voiced the reason for this decision in a new episode of his podcast — according to him, it was the resounding failure of Concord.

Grubb said that after the closure of Concord, the company conducted an internal audit, based on the results of which it was decided to close these projects. Now Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games need to offer Sony ideas for new titles — most likely, these will be single-player games. At the same time, both studios may face insufficient funding due to the cancellation of service projects.

According to information from Jason Schreier, Bluepoint Games was working on a game based on the God of War universe, and Bend Studio was developing a new IP.
