Hyper Light Breaker development cancelled

Independent studio Heart Machine has announced layoffs: the company will lay off some staff and cancel development of the roguelite action Hyper Light Breaker, which launched in Steam Early Access earlier this year.

Heart Machine disclosed the reason for the decision: the studio is facing funding issues. However, the company will continue developing other projects with a reduced staff, including the side-scroller Possessor(s), scheduled for release on November 11.

The fate of Hyper Light Breaker remains unknown; it will likely receive a final update.
