DOOM Eternal may receive modifications support

On the DOOM Eternal page in the Steam database, mentions of ModPortal and the executable file DOOMModPortal.exe appeared — it is likely that the shooter will finally receive long-awaited support for user modifications.

Plans to introduce mod support in DOOM Eternal were talked about in id software even before the release of the shooter. However, at that time the developers only shared their plans and did not claim that they would definitely add the necessary functionality to the project.

So far, id software has not officially confirmed the fans’ assumptions. The studio will probably announce modifications support on March 20, on the fourth anniversary of the project.
