DICE: Battlefield 6 will not have the SBMM system

DICE studio hastened to refute fans’ suspicions about the presence of Skill Based Matchmaking in Battlefield 6 — this system selects teams for players depending on their level of gaming skills. The system is actively criticized in the gaming community, and DICE assured that it will not be in the next part of Battlefield (however, references to SBMM were still found in the game code).

The game’s lead producer David Sirland said that matchmaking in the release version of Battlefield 6 will be the same as during the testing phase. It is designed for 64 players and will form teams of newcomers and experienced players, regardless of their skills. According to Sirland, the games of the franchise are best revealed in an atmosphere of total war, when different types of players clash in battles.

The release date of Battlefield 6 has not yet been announced. The project will be released on PC, Xbox Series and PS5.
