Corden: Microsoft is going to improve Windows 11 instead of developing a portable console

Journalist Jez Corden, citing unnamed sources, reported a change in priorities at Microsoft: now, instead of creating a portable console, the company will focus on improving Windows 11 for portable devices.

In terms of performance and battery life, portable PCs on Windows 11 are significantly inferior to devices on SteamOS: Microsoft wants to reduce this gap. At the same time, Corden noted that the company has not abandoned the creation of a portable console based on Xbox, but given the change in priorities, such a device is definitely not worth expecting in the foreseeable future.

At the same time, rumors about Microsoft abandoning its own consoles can be considered groundless: the company is still working on the next-generation Xbox, but the launch dates for the device are still unknown.
