Insider CharlieIntel, known in the CoD community for reliable leaks, reported that the new part of the series will be released on the past generation of consoles.

According to CharlieIntel, the release of a new part of the series on PS4 and Xbox One in 2025 is absurd, since the technical limitations of old consoles greatly hinder developers — for example, Call of Duty: Warzone works terribly on the past generation of consoles. In addition, CharlieIntel believes that it is precisely because of the support of Xbox One and PS4 that Warzone cannot implement two large maps at the same time.

Call of Duty 2025 has not yet been officially announced. According to rumors, the shooter will be a direct sequel to Black Ops 2.
